The new Farm Stock received a homemade Domex 650 wedge frame with a homemade chrome-moly Rollcage and a Ford TW25 rearend. The new Ford 9000 aluminium hood on the Tractor is homemade. The fenders are orginal John Deere fenders. Also the gearbox housing is original of a Ford TW25 and has 2 forward and 1 reverse gear. The gears and the shafts in the gearbox are special manufactured. All the gears and shafts were built by Kaarlo Finnilä from Finland. The Ford bell housing received a homemade steel liner and Christer Örn of Eagle clutches from Finland have built the 11" inch centrifugal clutch with 4 discs. The clutch also got a homemade steel fly wheel. The Finnish Team bought for their newly rebuilt Farm Stock a set of polished aluminium rims with new cut 24.5x32" Firestone Puller 2000 HP tires.
The new Ford 9000 Tractor is powered by a 6 cylinder New Holland Powerstar power plant on diesel fuel. The power plant has a modified New Holland engine block with homemade sleeves, a revised New Holland Powerstar cylinderhead (dry head) with a billet camshaft from Jan Burgraaf (New Generation Pulling Team), 56mm intake and 51mm exhaust valves, new stronger valve springs, a original Powerstar crank, special made steel rods and billet pistons, a selfmade intake and exhaust manifold, a Holset HX82 turbocharger, a aluminium Intercooler, a Basic data logger from the Netherlands, a Sigma fuel injection pump with 17mm elements and RSV regulator by Dikkenberg from the Netherlands.

Driver Harri Laitamäki, together with his brother Jukka Laitamäki (owner of the Tractor), won the Finnish Championship and finished on a good 5th place at the 2017 European Championships in Stroe, the Netherlands.

Starlight Express Light Mod Edition

After almost 10 years in Heavy Modified Pulling with 3 Allison V12 aircraft engines, the Starlight Express Pulling Team from Parma in Italy made the switch into the 2.5t/5500lbs. Light Modified division this season. The Italians ran for 3 years with 3 turbocharged Allison V12 engines in the Heavy Modified class in Italy. The Starlight Express Team had success with 3 turbocharged engines, but also sometimes bad luck and technical problems with the right settings of the engines. After the 2016 season with a lots of problems and less time to get all 3 Allisons in good shape, the crew decided to make the switch into the Light Modified class with a single tubocharged Allison on the frame.
For the switch they took over the old Starlight Express 3 chrome-moly tube frame with the homemade cage and the completely Rockwell rearend. The tube frame was modified for 1 engine,  received some new engine brackets and a fresh paintjob. Also the homemade aluminium fenders and the Midwest aluminium rims with the Firestone Puller 2000HP tires were took over of the old one. Also, the fenders got a new look during the season. The Rockwell rear axle in the Light Mod has a SQHD aluminium center section, a homemade aluminium differential with gears from the Green Monster Pulling Team from Germany, a Rockwell ring and pinion gear and aluminium planetaries carrier housing with Franklin planetaries.
The Tractor also needed some new lighter parts in the drivetrain for the the switch. The ride got a new homemade reverser with a homemade steel housing, a new homemade driveline and a 4 disc Molinari centrifugal clutch with a Browell aluminium bell housing.
The Starlight Express Light Mod is powered by a turbocharged Allison V1710 V12 engine on methanol fuel. The Allison engine comes from the old triple Allison Mod and was improved. The Allison power plant has a original Allison block with sleeves from the Green Monster Pulling Team, a original Allison crank with stock rods and Arias aluminium pistons, revised cylinder heads with Allison cams and a homemade belt drive, a new homemade intake and exhaust manifold, 2 Garret T18 turbochargers from the Dutch Popeye Pulling Team, a Hillborn fuel system with a Hillborn PG 250 fuel pump, a selfmade stain less steel fuel tank, a MSD 8 ignition and a AIM MXL Pro data logger.
The new Light Mod made its maiden voyage at the Italian Championship finals in Jolanda di Savoia in August. The Tractor made a good start, but after 20m the engine had a backfire and a little fire, driver Romano Mozzioni went from the thorttle and stopped the Tractor. Back in the workshop they found no major damage on the engine, only a broken thorttle wire and a little fuel leakage. Also after the the first run in front of the Sledge, they changed the Mallory ignition against the MSD 8 ignition.
The Starlight Express Team will compete with their Strlight Express Light Mod in the Italian Championship next year.

First Light Super Stock in Denmark

After 4 years Farm Stock Pulling in Denmark, the Stumper & Stykker Pulling Team around Chresten Christensen and Michael Simonsen from Vorning in Viborg, made the switch into Light Super Stock Pulling this season. In February 2014, they bought the old Zeinstra Welldone Deere (formerly Bits n´ Pieces of Willem Veldhuizen) of the Zeinstra Pulling Team from the Netherlands without the engine and drove that John Deere Tractor for 3 years in the Farm Stock competition in Denmark. In the winter of 2016 / 2017 Chresten and Micheal decieded to built a new engine on alcohol for the Tractor. The Light Super Stock got a turbocharged 6 cylinder John Deere engine with 7.6 l capacity. The engine has a JD stock block with new sleeves, a revised 55 Series JD cylinderhead with a camshaft from Jan Burggraf (New Generation Pulling Team) in the Netherlands, a counterweighted JD stock crank from the Neighbours Nightmare Pulling Team, special hardened rods from the USA and original JD pistons, a homemade intake and exhaust manifold, a Holset HX 82 turbocharger with 4.1" inch intake wheel, a Veldhuizen Special Product
(VSP) injection fuel system, a VSP fuel pump and homemade fuel tank. The new John Deere engine was built by Chresten Christensen and Michael Simonsen, together with the help of the Hvilsom Pulling Team (Elkaer Metal Boy Light Mod) from Hobro in Denmark. The Hvilsom Pulling Team helped also them to find the right setting for the engine. The Stumper & Stykker Pulling Team learned a lot of new things and made some nice passes in Denmark during the season of 2017, but also had some damages, like the blown intake manifold at the Danish Championship finals in Brande.
But this week, before the report went online on the pullingworld website, I´ve got a very sad and shocking message from Michael Simonsen. They had a fire in their workshop in Viborg 4 weeks ago. The result was, the completely workshop with the Light Super Stock Tractor burned down. The John Deere Tractor was in the fire completely destroyed and is not anymore to rescue. It´s a hard setback for the Danish Team after all those investments during the last winter. We hope the guys find the force and the money to built a new Pulling Tractor in the future !!!!
Workshop and the Tractor after the fire

The gearbox of the Garden Puller comes out of an old Volvo Amazon car and has a rebuilt input and output shaft. The new ride also gets a homemade driveline with a self built steel driveline protection, a 3 disc Tilton centrifugal clutch with a size of 7.25´´ inch and a homemade steel bell housing. The new homemade fenders were made from aluminium. The German Team purchased for their new project a set of new polished Real Wheel rims with Cepek Giant Puller tires from the USA.
